2009, Clinics in Chest MedicineCitation Excerpt :Withdrawal of the agent for 1 month was followed by a return to baseline hypoxemia and hypercapnia. In another study, 8 patients admitted to the hospital were treated with intramuscular progesterone after initial therapy, which consisted of a combination of weight loss, digoxin, diuretics, intermittent PAP, or tracheostomy.74 Their mean baseline Paco2 on admission was 61.9 mm Hg, which improved to 51.0 mm Hg after medical therapy.
