2022, Chemico-Biological InteractionsPromising anti- cervical carcinoma and inflammatory agent, Resveratrol targets poly (ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 (PARP-1) induced premature ovarian failure with a potent enzymatic modulatory activity
2021, Journal of Reproductive ImmunologyCitation Excerpt :On the contrary, treatment of irradiated rats with resveratrol significantly decreased the ovarian mRNA level of visfatin and significantly increased mRNA levels of PPAR-1 (Fig. 6). Resveratrol radioprotective effects were previously demonstrated (Catalgol et al., 2012; Tentori et al., 2002; Rouleau et al., 2010), but its potential radioprotective effect on the female reproductive organs is not explored much. Present study found it’s a target as PARP-1 through which it was able to be modulating the expression of inflammatory cytokines, and transcription factors (Loizzi et al., 2008; Adriaens et al., 2009; Kumar and Gupta, 2016).
MicroRNA-223 protects neonatal rat cardiomyocytes and H9c2 cells from hypoxia-induced apoptosis and excessive autophagy via the Akt/mTOR pathway by targeting PARP-1
2018, Journal of Molecular and Cellular CardiologyA rapid fluorescent method for the real-time measurement of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase 1 activity
2018, Analytical BiochemistryCitation Excerpt :PARP1 participates in various DNA repair pathways, such as non-homologous end-joining [5], base excision repair/single-strand break repair [6], nucleotide excision repair [7], and others [8]. The abundance of functions and the key role in the regulation of DNA repair systems make PARP1 a promising target for the inhibitors as potential anti-cancer drugs [9–13]. The anti-cancer effect of inhibitors of DNA repair enzymes is based on preventing the restoration of DNA integrity by effective repair systems after the action of ionizing radiation or chemotherapy [14].
