After diagnosis, it's a big challenge to keep the disease under control. The most common factors for difficult to treat asthma are patient-related in terms of poor inhaler technique and poor adherence. Adherence to inhaled therapy is a big issue in India as we are poor perceiversAims and Objective: The present study was designed to see the response of once-daily inhaled therapy in the control of Asthma in patients who were poorly compliant and perceivers. we also assess the incorporation of daily peak flowmetry monitoring and its importance in improving adherenceMethods: we recruit 80 diagnosed Asthmatic patients of different stages and shift them to the once-daily inhaled regime of vilanterol with fluticasone furoate. We follow these patients for one year with daily peak flowmetry and assess their control status.Results: out of 80 recruited patients 46 were of the moderate grade with FEV1>60%, 18 were of the severe grade with FEV1 <60 % and 16 were of mild grade with fev1>80 %. All these patients had compliance issues and were not taking regular inhaled therapy. 40 % of patients were on SMART regime but poorly adhere to their therapy. All these 80 patients were given peak flowmetry and advised to monitor PEFR two times. 95 %of these patients were found to be compliant with inhaled therapy in our study and their Asthma was well controlled.Conclusion: Once daily regime and peak flowmetry helps in improving adherence and better control of AsthmaFootnotesCite this article as Eur Respir J 2022; 60: Suppl. 66, 4035.This article was presented at the 2022 ERS International Congress, in session “-”.This is an ERS International Congress abstract.
