The clinical and functional status of 65 patients with severe steroid-dependent asthma in the dynamics of pregnancy and the health status of their newborns (group I) were studied. Comparison group - 60 children from mothers without chronic respiratory diseases (group II Most of the patients had no control over BA symptoms during pregnancy - 51 (78.5%), worsening of the disease during pregnancy was noted. In one case, antenatal fetal death at 22 weeks of gestation was noted in a patient against the background of severe exacerbation of asthma. In mothers who received systemic GC, newborns had lower weight and height indicators, their average body weight was 3078 ± 110 g, whereas in the comparison group - 36352 ± 112 g (p<0.05), length - 48.0 ± 0.7 cm, in group II - 53.5 ± 0.9 cm (p<0.05). A greater number of pathological conditions were noted, among which prematurity was more often observed - in 25 (38.5%) in group I and 7 (11.7%) in group II (p <0.05), caesarean section - in 44 (69.2 %) in group I, while in group II - 16 (26.7%), a more serious condition at birth, resuscitation measures were carried out by 30 (46.1%) newborns in group I. In group I the predominance prevailed: intrauterine infection - in 43 (66.2%), in group II - in 21 (35%), intrauterine fetal growth retardation - in 21 (32.3%) and 7 (11.7%), respectively.
