The DPI option was based on FP/SX 250/50µg 1 inhalation twice daily, with yearly cost inputs of £420. Drug delivery data was taken from the aforementioned study [1], looking at percentage of label dose delivered to the lungs for pMDI/VHC and DPI systems, using an optimal inhalation technique. Results: The mass (µg) of FP and SX delivered per £ are reported in the table. ProductAPIµg/£/yrSeretide 250 Accuhaler DPIFP43.5SX8.7Seretide 125 Evohaler MDI + VHCFP205.0SX41.0Conclusion: The pMDI/VHC system, using this assessment, was nearly five times as cost effective as the DPI system. Further analysis is required to determine if there would be any quality-adjusted life-year (QALY) effects based on the chosen intervention.[1] Suggett et al.
