Studies have shown that pulmonary rehabilitation improves quality of life, bronchial asthma (BA) control, reduces wheezing, anxiety, depression.Aim: Evaluate the effectiveness of pulmonary rehabilitation in patients with controlled mild persistent BA.Materials and methods: The assessment of quality of life and controllability of symptoms in 118 patients with BA, who, in addition to maintenance therapy (MT) according to GINA 2020, performed an individual complex of physical exercises for 3 months. The analysis of controllability and quality of life was performed using questionnaires ACQ, AQLQ and ACT.Results: Before treatment a complete examination of 118 patients with mild persistent BA was performed and questionnaires were completed. We had 2 groups: Group I-64 patients, who, in addition to the MT, had an individual complexes of controlled exercise; Group II-54 patients with only MT. After 3 months, re-examination and questionnaire revealed that good control was achieved in 62.5% of patients in the I group, and partial - in 37.5%. In group II in 16.7% of patients control over BA symptoms was not achieved, in 13.3% - partial control, and in 50% - good. Improvement of quality of life was observed in 100% of patients in group I and in 83.3% in group II.Conclusions: Controlled physical activities, selected individually based on the results of general clinical examinations, spirography, symptoms and concomitant pathology - has a positive effect on the control and quality of life of BA patients.FootnotesCite this article as: European Respiratory Journal 2021; 58: Suppl. 65, PA311.This abstract was presented at the 2021 ERS International Congress, in session “Prediction of exacerbations in patients with COPD”.This is an ERS International Congress abstract.
