ANOVA,Chi-square and logistic regression were used. Results: 343 surveys were collected:218 concerted school(CS),45 public school(PubS) and 80 private school(PrS).Average age is 13-14 yrs with similar % of girls and boys. Adolescents who have ever tried tobacco is higher in PubS(37.7%)vs31.3%(PrS)vs20.6%(CS) p<0.001,age of onset in all centres:10 yrs.Current tobacco use:22.2%(PubS),8.7%(PrS),6%(CS)p<0.001.Students know e-cigarette(EC):93.6%(CS),100%(PubS),98.8%(PrS)p=0.047.Age of onset:12yrs(CS),14yrs(PubS and PrS).Current EC use:22.2%(PubS)vs12.5%(PrS)vs9.2%(CS)p=0.014.Perceived risk of EC less harmful than tobacco:79.5%(PubS),75.9%(PrS),25.2%(CS).Have ever smoked waterpipe:60%(PrS),48.9%(PubS),26.1%(CS).Current use (1-2/week):17.5%(PrS),11.1%(PubS),9.6%(CS). Perceived risk waterpipe more harmful than tobacco:45%(CS),7%(PubS),2.5%(PrS).Specific information (EC,pipe):32.6%(CS),26.7%(PubS),21.3%(PrS).Use of other substances:15.6%(PubS),10%(PrS),3.7%(CS).Risk factors (tobacco):waterpipe: HR27,772(95% CI 13,753-56,079)p<0.00,other substances:HR17,624(95% CI 5,810-53,546)p<0.001. Lower age is a protective factor for tobacco:HR 0.542 (95% CI 0.432-0.679) p<0.001 and waterpipe:HR 0.383 (95% CI 0.300-0.488)p<0.001.Conclusions: Concerted school has a lower prevalence of tobacco in all its forms. Shisha and other substances use are risk factors for tobacco smoking. Younger age is a protective factor for both, tobacco and waterpipe use.FootnotesCite this article as: European Respiratory Journal 2020; 56: Suppl. 64, 1370.This abstract was presented at the 2020 ERS International Congress, in session “Respiratory viruses in the "pre COVID-19" era”.This is an ERS International Congress abstract.
