Prevalence, beliefs and use profile are not well know. Objective: Identify factors related by ecig consumption can help to select more effective cessation strategies.Metods: Cross-sectional study in U-St (Faculty of Medicine, UVa. Spain). Questions related to ecig use, manufactured cigarettes (mcig) use and beliefs about ecig were asked.Stadistics: Chi2, T-Student, regression (p<0.05).Results: 605 U-St answered, mean age 21.6 years (17-49), 73.1% women. U-St beliefs in Fig1. 12.8% who never have used ecig would be ready to consume it (features in Fig1). The prevalence of ecig was 8.3% (features in Fig2). Ecig users know 3.2 people who also use it (p0.000). Conclusions: U-St have favorable opinion about ecig and would use it influenced by their social environement and beliefs. Ecig prevalence is considerable, mainly sporadic and not dual use. Dual users are less motivated to quit. 22% of U-St would not quit ecig despite its toxicity: they believed help to quit mcig and to integrate socially. Cessation strategies are needed to change the wrong perception of ecig damage in U-St.FootnotesCite this article as: European Respiratory Journal 2020; 56: Suppl. 64, 1374.This abstract was presented at the 2020 ERS International Congress, in session “Respiratory viruses in the "pre COVID-19" era”.This is an ERS International Congress abstract.
