However, High Flow Nasal Cannula(HFNC)Oxygen Therapy was gaining more attention as an alternative treatment choice for critically ill patients. It can decrease the work of breathing and reduce the need for respiratory support escalation. Due to the fact that the use of HFNC Oxygen Therapy has become increasingly ubiquitous in Hong Kong, related operational knowledge to health care providers is needed. A service enhancement program on HFNC Oxygen Therapy to frontinline nurses is needed.Objectives: 1. To evaluate the participants’ knowledge enhancement on HFNC Oxygen Therapy.2. To promote HFNC Oxygen Therapy to frontline nurses.Methods: A seminar was held for nurses in Medicine & Geriatrics Department to promote participants’ understanding on mechanism, pros and cons and the related nursing care on HFNC Oxygen Therapy. A one group pre-test and post-test quasi-experimental design study was conducted after the seminar and analyzed through employing univariate analysis:The Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test.Some instruments were developed including observation chart, prescription label and bedside signage to facilitate documentation of patients’ status, prescription and device setting check.Workshop was held to enhance particiants’ interest and memory.The related guideline of caring patients with HFNC Oxygen Therapy was developed.Results: 21 participants had positive ranks.
