Demographical data such as age, sex, cigarette smoking status, lifetime work history, respiratory symptoms, pulmonary function testing results, laboratory data, chest radiograph, high resolution computed tomography obtained at time of hospital admission. Results: 330 confirmed silicosis and 229 controls from the same work places were selected. The demographics are recorded in table 1. The mean age was 34.7 (23.6-52.3) in controls and 39 (24.4-69.9) in silicosis group.Neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), ferritin, T4 were higher in silicosis group than controls and MPV, thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) levels were lower in silicosis group than controls.Statistical significance was also seen in mutivariate analysis for NLR and T4.View this table:1Conclusions: To the best of our knowledge, this is the first clinical study that demonstrated high levels of NLR in silicosis.
