YR 2016 UL https://publications.ersnet.org//content/48/suppl_60/PA4196.abstract AB Placenta is a natural protective barrier for the unborn child and studying its status in patients with allergic diseases is particularly interesting. The purpose of the study: was to determine the placenta immunomorphology in women with well-controlled and poor controlled asthma and varying severity.Materials and methods: We conducted an immunomorphological analysis of 168 samples of placenta of women with asthma (N=138) with varying severity and control group (N=30), using specific serum cytokines against IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, fibrinogen, C3 fraction of complement, and monoclonal antibodies against IgA, IgM, IgG.Results: The presence of C3 fraction of complement (pathogenic immune complexes - PIC) and fibrinogen were significantly higher in cases with moderate and severe asthma (76.3% -78.9%). In area of PIC were also found IgA (60.5%), IgM (55,3%), IgG (71,1%), as well as IL-4 (71,1%), IL-6 (65 8%), IL-10 (57.9%). In the control group - single cases of fixation of these markers. Deposition of all these markers in placenta was significantly higher in cases of poor control of asthma especially in the 3 trimester.More than 80% of women with mild persistent asthma who used inhaled corticosteroids fixation of IgM and IL-4 was negative. In cases of moderate and severe asthma the same trend was observed in 60% of cases. Conclusion: The severity and poor control of asthma positively correlate with the presence of immune deposits in the placenta. Immune inflammation of placenta may be the reason of pregnancy complications. At the same time, adequate asthma treatment during pregnancy reduces the severity of this immune inflammation. All these factors may play role in the prenatal development of allergic phenotype of newborns.
