All patients underwent thoracoscopy. Survival analysis was performed by means of Kaplan-Meier curves; differences among groups were analyzed using the Gehan-Breslow-Wilcoxon test with Prism software. Predefined analyses were performed according to age at diagnosis, histotype and year of diagnosis.Results: Mean age{\textpm}SD of patients was 72{\textpm}9yrs. Median survival was 12 mo. (95\% CI:10.5-14). Younger age at diagnosis was associated with better outcome (median survival:17,14,9 and 5.5 mo. for ages \<67,67-73,74-79 and \>79 yrs., respectively;p for trend\<.0001). Epithelioid histotype was associated with the best outcome, followed by fibrous and mixed (median survival 15,7 and 6 mo., respectively; p\<.0001). Patients diagnosed after 2008 had a longer survival than patients diagnosed before 2008 (median survival 12 and 10.5 mo., respectively;p\<.05). Conclusions: Our overall survival appears slightly better than what previously reported in a large Italian population (median survival 9.8 mo.; 95\% CI:9.4-10.1). Our data confirm an association between younger age at diagnosis and longer survival following the diagnosis of MM, and the better prognosis of the epithelioid histotype. Patients diagnosed more recently showed a better outcome, suggesting an improvement in therapeutic modalities.}, issn = {0903-1936}, URL = {https://erj.ersjournals.com/content/46/suppl_59/PA4352}, eprint = {https://erj.ersjournals.com/content}, journal = {European Respiratory Journal} }
