Abstract

The article presents the results of a retrospective analysis of the treatment of 79 patients with chronic destructive diseases of the lungs of an inflammatory nature. The aim of the work is a retrospective analysis of the previously used method of organ-saving surgical treatment.

We analyzed the clinical records, the results of laboratory and instrumental studies, the immediate and long-term results of the organ-saving method of surgical treatment performed in 79 patients with chronic destructive diseases of the lungs.

It was revealed that 51 patients with tuberculosis of lung did not achieve the planned final result of conservative treatment. Over different periods of time, the patients developed fibrocavernous tuberculosis. As a result of which organ-saving surgical treatment was performed in these patients. Cure was achieved in 49 (96.1%) patients, death was noted in 2 (3.9%). In 28 patients with chronic lung abscesses the use of an organ-saving technique made it possible to achieve the desired result of cure without using traumatic volumetric interventions.

The necessity of increasing the efficiency of treatment of patients with chronic cavities of the lungs using an organ-saving method of surgical treatment is substantiated, which will lead to the abacillation of patients with fibrocavernous tuberculosis of lung, a decrease in the number of early and late postoperative complications, a decrease in disability and mortality in patients with chronic cavities in the lungs.
