Abstract

Background: The aim of the present research is to evaluate functional activities of blood phagocytes under MRSA in subjects with polypous rhinosinusitis (PRS).

Methods: The subjects of our study were blood monocytes and neutrophil granulocytes in PRS patients in the ages from 25 to 45 years (n=38). Theintensityof phagocyte«respiratory explosion» had beenperformed by chemiluminescence analysis. Phagocytosis functions were estimated by flow cytometer FC500. The induction of monocytes and neutrophil granulocytes had been performed by live bacteria culture MRSA/MSSA in the concentration of 106CFU/ml.

Results: The study for monocyte functional activities as a response to MRSA induction related to MSSA had revealed the increase of activities of oxygen primary and secondary radicals 1.5 times. Atthe same time we found their lowering in regard to spontaneous response. Neutrophil granulocytes showed the activation of the work of oxygen primary and secondary radicals as a response to MRSA induction related to MSSA when their reserves went down. Studyforphagocytes activities of bloodmonocytes as a response to MRSA related to MSSA had marked the decrease of phagocyte number ofCD14lowCD16+, CD14+CD16+and CD14+CD16-of cellular subpopulations. In neutrophil granulocytes of blood we had revealed the lowering of phagocyte number and phagocyte index in MRSA induction related to MSSA.

Conclusion: In the process of the induction of «respiratory explosion» with MRSA strains related to MSSAthe activities of NADPH-oxidase is risen, which characterizes the level of monocyte and neutrophil granulocyte cytotoxicity as sufficient, in which case cellular activities of phagocytes are lowered.
