Abstract
Aim: To evaluate the practical efficiency of the prophylactic programs for tobacco smoking in in adolescents: informing, social competencies learning and developing.
Methods: 33 male and 25 female adolescents of 12,34±0,073 years, – were distributed in two groups for 6 months: the experimental (1-st) gr.- 28 persons (15 m. &13 f.) and the control (2-nd) group - 30 persons (17 male and 13 female). The 1-st gr. participated in prophylactic anti-smoking multi-modal program (informing, social competencies learning and developing in individual and group format, including interviews, lectures, interactive games and meetings in reference groups). The study assessed the effectiveness of motivation programs to reduce the intensity of tobacco smoking among adolescent using the following target evaluation points: smoking index (SI), spirometry parameters, CO exhaled. We also evaluated: Fagerstrom test, motivation to smoking cessation/smoking continuation. The data analysis - IBM SPSS Statistics 21.0.
Results: The Fagerstrom test, initially, in both groups, was as "light" nicotine addiction, with low motivation to quit. In 6 months, SI and COex in the 1-st gr. were lower by half compared to the 2-nd gr. (p<0.05), with the subjects who didn’t participate in the prophylactic programs for smoking cessation for informing, social competencies learning and developing.
Conclusion: We found out that the target points were objectively better in the experimental group, and it seems possible to recommend further development of such prophylactic anti-smoking multi-modal program in larger cohorts of adolescents/
