“2017 ERS/ATS standards for single-breath carbon monoxide uptake in the lung.” Brian L. Graham, Vito Brusasco, Felip Burgos, Brendan G. Cooper, Robert Jensen, Adrian Kendrick, Neil R. MacIntyre, Bruce R. Thompson and Jack Wanger. Eur Respir J 2017; 49: 1600016.

This article from the January 2017 issue of the European Respiratory Journal was originally published with the following errors.

On page 8, it was incorrectly stated that:

“The calculation of VA must be within 300 mL of 3 L times the STPD to BTPS (body temperature, ambient pressure, saturated with water vapour conditions) correction factor, which is 863/(PB−47), where PB is the barometric pressure.”

The corrected sentence should be as follows:

“The calculation of VA must be within 300 mL of 3 L times the ATPD to BTPS (body temperature, ambient pressure, saturated with water vapour conditions) correction factor, which is 310/TA·PB/(PB−47), where TA is the ambient temperature in degrees kelvin and PB is the barometric pressure in mmHg.”

On page 23, it was incorrectly stated that:

“Adjustments to the predicted DLCO in a subject on supplemental oxygen may be made using a measured PAO2, where PAO2=FIO2·(PB−47) and assuming a normal PAO2 in room air at a sea level of 100 mmHg (13.3 kPa).”

The corrected sentence should be as follows:

“Adjustments to the predicted DLCO in a subject on supplemental oxygen may be made using a measured PAO2 and assuming a normal PAO2 breathing room air at sea level of 100 mmHg (13.3 kPa).”

The article has been corrected and republished online. Analogous changes have also been implemented where necessary in the executive summary version of the article, published in the European Respiratory Journal as https://doi.org/10.1183/13993003.E0016-2016.
