This article from the February 2014 issue of the European Respiratory Journal was originally published with errors in the criteria used to define severe asthma on page 350 and in table 3.

At both aforementioned points in the article, the “poor symptom control” criterion for severe asthma should have been defined as: Asthma Control Questionnaire (ACQ) consistently ≥1.5 or Asthma Control Test (ACT) <20, rather than as ACQ >1.5 or ACT <20; similarly, the “frequent severe exacerbations” criterion should have been defined as: those requiring two or more bursts of systemic corticosteroids (≥3 days each) in the previous year, not those requiring two or more bursts of systemic corticosteroids (>3 days each) in the previous year.
