Abstract
MMPs and APP are predictors of activity and severity of inflammation and markers of tissue remodeling.
Aim: to determine MMPs and APP in assessing of effectiveness of IPT in patients PT.
Methods: Patients were divided into 2 groups after IPT: 42 (1 gr.) with positive X-ray dynamics and 24 (2 gr.) – torpid course. MMPs-1,-3,-8,-9, TIMP-1 (ELISE method), Haptoglobin (GB), C-reactive protein (CRP), α1-acid glycoprotein (AGP), α1-protease inhibitor (PI), α2 macroglobulin (MG) were investigated in the serum before and after IPT. Discriminant analysis was applied.
Results: Before treatment MMP-1,-3,-8,-9 were increased and MG was decreased in both groups. TIMP-1 was increased in both groups, but it was significantly more in the 2nd gr. (p≤0.05). After IPT MMP-9 and TIMP-1 significantly decreased, but remained increased. TIMP-1 was significantly more in the 2nd gr. (p≤0.05). In 1st gr: before treatment GP and AGP were normal, CRP and PI were increased and after treatment all indicators were normalized. In 2-nd gr: all APP were increased, after IPT they reduced, but not normalized and exceed the analogous values in 1st gr. Before treatment there was correlation between TIMP-1 and MG (r=-0,45, -0,42;.p≤0.05) in both groups, after IPT - between MMP-1 and -9 (r=-0,45,-0,41; p≤0.05). The linear combination of signs provides predictive efficiency of IPT with accuracy to 98%.
Conclusions: the combination of MMP-1, TIMP-1, MG, PI can be used to predict the reparation timing of during IPT in patients with PT.
