This article from the November 2016 issue of the European Respiratory Journal was published with an error in the first sentence of the section entitled “Diagnosing ILD without lung biopsy.” The sentence incorrectly specified that 820 patients underwent biopsy, whereas the number stated should have been 2820. The corrected sentence reads as follows:

“Further information provided by the study by Hutchinson et al. [11] is the relatively low number of surgical lung biopsies performed, with only 2820 patients with a diagnosis of ILD undergoing this procedure in National Health Service hospitals in the UK over a 12-year period.”

The article has been corrected and republished online.
