What our findings do support from previous work is that HRQoL does vary in gastrostomy patients dependent on the referral indication.10,40 When our findings are considered in the context of our previous work evaluating mortality and other recently published prospective mortality studies, it seems that patients with oropharyngeal cancer have the best outcomes, both with regards to mortality and HRQoL.38,41
