Pneumoconiose au noir de fumée

Carbon Black Pneumoconiosis

International Archives of Occupational and Environmental Health Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

In 29 (20.3%) of the 143 subjects exposed for a mean period of 19.1 years to carbon black dust, pneumoconiosic lesions, forms p and q, were radiologically detected. Carbon black pneumoconiosis is often accompanied by generalized or limited emphysema and scintigraphically detected disturbances of lung perfusion. Tuberculous pleuropulmonary sequalae but no active specific lesions were noted in 27.2% of the patients. Histologic investigation performed in one patient emphasized a diffuse emphysema and a slight but extended collagenous reaction. A statistically significant increase of serum IgA and decrease of IgM were found.
