All the media were supplemented with foetal calf serum (10%), penicillin (100 U·mL−1), streptomycin (100 µg·mL−1) and fungizone (1.25 µg·mL−1). No foetal calf serum was added during exposure to particles with a 50% cut-off aerodynamic diameter of 10 μm.
