Ultrastructural (Ul)-functional changes of lung and aorta in the various stages of the development atherosclerosis were studied. Section were stained and examined in a Tesla BS-500 electron microscope. Results and conclusion: HC provokes lipid spots in the wall of the aorta, macrophages transformation into foam cells. At the same time lung Ul changes in microcirculation (capillaries, postcapillaries venules wall Ul), alveolocyts (Al) as in connective tissue structure were observed. Al Type II exposed a significant dystrophy with cytoplasm vacuolisation promoting number osmophile cells reduction and lipids inclusions and lysosomes increases. Surfactant expressed in migration into the lumen of the alveoli and phagocytosed by activated macrophages. 2 month experiments show: the basement membrane Al type I thickened by fibrosis, which is most pronounced in the septal stroma and active fibroblasts entwined collagen fibers, thereby separating type Al type II from the basement membrane and change the position of the cell axis. On 3-6 months HC develops intense deposition of connective tissue. Thus, HC provoke the structural-functional reconstruction of lung. This suggestion may be used as basic mechanism for explication of developing the various clinical reveals even in early stage of human atherosclerosis.
