Chow YR 2014 UL http://erj.ersjournals.com/content/44/Suppl_58/P1302.abstract AB Introduction The development of Hospital Authority (HA) nurse clinics has demonstrated nurses' commitment in the provision of quality client care. We aim to share and report the accreditation journey of respiratory nurse clinic. Methodology According to “Guidelines onAccreditation ofHA Nurse Clinics 2010”, the accreditation criteria: a) a nurse clinic is well formalized and structured b) demonstrating advanced nursing competence c) functioning independently d) making referral to multidisciplinary team e)nursing therapeutics as key functions f) key outcome measures are symptoms control, complications, prevention and care satisfaction, g) holistic approach to patient's needs Results Five year accredited period is approved from year of 2013-2018. Evaluation of 1-year services of nurse clinic was performed. None of 180 patients show full competence in demonstrating all14 steps for MDI (n=50) and 11 steps for MDI with spacer (n=130) correctly. A significant difference is achieved (MDI: 4.5 vs. 10.09; Spacer: 5.7 vs. 10.43) Eight patients with severe COPD exacerbation and multiple readmission rates reduced from 3.75 to 0.85 episodes per patient. The CPAP compliance rates were significantly higher for patients attending CPAP compliance clinic (86.4%) than those who did not (52.1%). 77% of 224 patients acknowledged sufficient understanding of these disease and demonstrated willingness for CPAP treatment. 117 (100%) patient satisfaction surveys admitted nurse clinic can offer a help and would like to attend follow-up continuously.Conclusion Respiratory nurse clinic plays a vital role in optimizing pharmacological, non-pharmacological and self-care plan management.
