In its pathogenesis are involved various immunological reactions. The aim of this paper is to evaluate the initial levels of lysozyme as a representative of innate immune system and adenosine deaminase which is present in T lymphocytes and produce in the process of their maturation.Patients and methods: the study was performed on 81 patients, 45 with pulmonary TB (26 males and 19 females) and 36 patients ( 26 with malignant diseases of the lung and 12 patients with pneumonia ) as a control group. Results: the examination of the initial level of lysozyme showed statisticaly significant differences between TB patients and those with pneumonia ( p<0.003). Patients with TB had the highest values of adenosine deaminase. These values were significantly higher than those in patients with malignant diseases(p<0.004). Such differences were not presented among the patients with TB compared with those with pneumonia. Conclusion: there are activation of innate immune system and T lymphocytes in patient with tuberculosis.
