Some species are certainly dangerous and colonizing. Now clinical isolation of NTM increases in many countries, usually due to increase of immunosuppressive conditions. Clinical detection of mycobacteriosis is associated with problems of identification. Thus, decisive diagnostic criteria are sensitive and specific methods of NTM identification. Accordingly, the reliable laboratory technologies should guarantee the correct etiological diagnostics. NTM infection case-reporting data in Siberian Federal Region and Far Eastern Federal Region of Russia in the past two years remain stable at a low level - 0.2% of the total number of NTM identification conducted tests for years 2011 and 2012.Objective: To determine NTM occurrence in Siberian regions.Methods: Microbiological tests, 454 sequencing (GS Junior), GenoType® Mycobacterium CM/AS (“Hain LifeScience”). Results: We have evaluated 49 clinical NTM species, isolated from respiratory tract of patients treated in TB hospitals from TB research Institute, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo. Species composition was: M.abscessus- 20, M.fortuitum -14, M.gordonae - 6, M.kansasii - 4, M.avium – 2, M.peregrinum - 3 isolates.Conclusions: Fast growing groups of NTM species dominate among the identified isolates. Laboratory diagnostic capacity for mycobacteriosis in Siberian Region is not sufficient, therefore it is necessary to enhance the alertness and create a common algorithm of diagnosis supported by standards. The rates of NTM infection are increasing around the world, thereby the problem will evidently become more important issue than current rates suggest. ER -
