Observational studies suggested that the swimming, in particular, is the ideal physical practice to improve the respiratory function and decrease the impact of the asthmatic disease. Objective: Estimate the efficiency of the swimming in children asthmatic and its impact on the respiratory function and the quality of life.Method: It is study led over 1 year to children asthmatic of school age presenting asthma partially or not controlled with optimal treatment. The evaluation was made by the ACT, the peak-flow before and after every session and the lung function exploration at the beginning of the study and after 2 months of swimming. Results: 13 children were included among which 2 girls and 11 boys, middle-aged of 10 years. It was noticed that after 2 months of swimming the DEP improved at 53 % of the children, the VEMS to 30 % and the CVF to 46 %.8 % of the children saw that their asthma became controlled well according to the ACT.Discussion:It is initial results of the study which is going to last another year but they are in priori satisfactory and suit to the results of some studies led on this subject which demonstrated the profit brought by the swimming in children asthmatic. Conclusion:Besides the good tolerance da the swimming in children asthmatic, this one contributes to the improvement of the quality of life of the child as well as to the respiratory functions measured with fewer side effects.
