Only passive inhalation of e-cig vapour has been studied.METHODSWe studied direct particle emission of 7 e-cigs liquidsView this table:TABLE 1: e-cigs liquid compositions studiedusing a Scanning Mobility Particle Sizer in order to determine the number and size of particles inhaled by e-cigs users.RESULTSe-cigs emit 106 -107 particles with a size distribution peaked at 10-20nm & 100-500nm (Figure1) and a median diameter of 200-400nm (Figure2).Particle size and number are shown in Tab1.CONCLUSIONSe-cigs liquids generate nano-particles (300-3000 more than ambient air) that could be inhaled.Their composition has little or no impact on the distribution, size and number of emitted nano-particles.
