However compliance with PRP has been low. Objective: To identify variables associated with compliance in an outpatient PRP at a Hospital in Argentina and also to evaluate the impact of the rehabilitation on program compliant patients. Method: A retrospective analysis was performed on 388 patients who were assessed for admission to PRP. The first stage of the program, which we have called “skills acquisition” consisted of both supervised physical training and educational lectures, twice weekly for 16 weeks. Patients were reassessed after this stage. In the present study PRP compliance refers to patient completion of the total sessions and reassessment. Results: 26.29% of the 388 patients complied with PRP. Multiple logistic regression analysis (Forward Stepwise; p<0.10 to be eligible for entry into the model) was conducted to identify factors associated with “program compliance”. The final model was as follows: having health insurance coverage (OR=3.99; CI90%=2.24-7.12), commute time less than 60minutes (OR=2.07; CI90%=1.37-3.11) and availability of funds (OR=2.11; CI90%=1.03-4.31). All patients that performed the six minute walking test and Chronic Respiratory Questionnaire demonstrated significant improvement at the reassessment. Conclusion: The results warn about low compliance and their relationship with the socioeconomic variables.
