In sarcoidosis patients lung involvement is often seen. The prevelance of extrapulmonary involvement in sarcoidosis is affected from both ethnic and racial factors, and approximately reported as 20-41%. The aim of this study is to evaluate the prevelance of extrapulmonary involvement patients with sarcoidosis patients who were diagnosed and followed up at our clinic. The demographical data, clinical information, whole blood cell count, serum calcium and other biochemistry parameters were recorded. And also, consultations from ophtalmology, dermatology, cardiology deparments were performed in order to evaluate systemic involvement and abdomen ultrasonography was performed. 190 patients (mean age: 43.16, F/M: 132/58) were enrolled in the study. In 35 (18%) cases extrapulmonary involvement was detected; 6 patients were stage 0 (7%), 16 patients were stage 1 (46%), 12 patient was stage 2 (34%) and 1 patients were stage 3 (3%). Extrapulmonary symptoms; chest/back pain 23% (n:8), weakness 17% (n:6), redness od the skin 23% (n:8), firmness of skin 17% (n:6), weight loss 6% (n:2) and sweting 9% (n:3) were present. As extrapulonary involvement; 1 neurologic involvemnet, 20 skin involvement, 5 eye involvement, 8 peripheral lymph involvement and 1 both eye and peripheral lymph involvement were detected. As a result, diagnosis of extrapulmonary involvement may not always be easy, and in some patients extrapulmonary ivolvemnet alter the treatment approach.
