Patients with asthma were interviewed about smoking, Fagerstrom nicotine dependence test (ND), MQS. They filled in questionnaire Hearing the views of smokers who have a lung condition-ELF. Among smokers who applied to Russian Quitline (RQ) 12\% had a diagnosis asthma and 93 people (63 male and 30 female, 34- 75 years) gave the agreed to participate in smoking cessation program (medical-psychological support during 1 month: 4-8 telephone sessions).Results. Patients with asthma smoked from 10 to 60 cigarettes per day during 10-60 years, ND=5,07+0,62. The main reason the smoking was: it helps cope with stress. The most smokers tried to quit smoking more 3 times (80,6\%); 59,1\% had the strong degree of withdrawal. In 10,7\% the doctors recommended to quit smoking, but the recommendation about smoking cessation were given only 2,1\% of patients. The main reasons to stop smoking were: current health condition, the request of relatives, example for children or for the sake of childrens health, physicians recommendation; for the economic cost. Effectiveness of smoking cessation (6 months) was 17,4\% and the use the nicotine replacement therapy increased the number of abstaining from smoking to 41\%.Conclusion. Physicians should be to assist smokers with asthma to quit smoking and often give advice to stop smoking.
