Studies were included if they reported correlation coefficients for HRQOL with other clinical outcomes. Quantitative analysis used a random effects model and applied Fishers z. Statistical heterogeneity was estimated. Results: Search identified 392 studies and 17 studies (5 abstracts) were included.View this table:Meta-analysis results. Conclusions: Findings supported that HRQOL has a stronger association with functional and symptoms assessments than with objective measures. The review involved heterogeneity of the HRQOL questionnaires and disease aetiologies. These results could form the basis for investigating aetiological relationships in future studies.
