Only 25.0% were married; 43.6%-alcoholics, 33.3%- drugusers. 81.8% were HIV-infected–but only 58.3% were registered in AIDS centers.81.8% were newly identified; 18.2% relapsed. 38.6% had generalized lesions: meningitis-25.0%, TB of larynx-4.5%, pleurisy-6.8%, gonitis-1.3%.Only 21.0% had had an apparent TB contact. The onset was always gradual: over 2 weeks-16.7%, 1 month-56.7%, 2-26.7%. Intoxication was mild: weakness-75.0%, but only in 15.4% it was severe. High temperature was in 62.8%: subfebrile-29.9%, febrile-37.2%, only 4.6% reached 39-40°C. Decreased appetite and weight loss were observed in 55.8%, which could also be attributed to HIV. Except for cases of meningitis, no mental disoders were observed. Respiratory syndrome was scarce: dry cough-48.8%, scanty sputum-27.9%. Dyspnea on exertion in 20.9%, at rest-20.9%. General condition was satisfactory in 16.1%, moderate-48.4%, grave-25.8%, and extremely severe-9.7%. Respiration was rough in 48.7%, weakened-38.5%, wheezing -only 16.6%. 47.5% were bacillary. Anemia in 45.0%. WBC count was usually normal, low-30% and high-2.5% only. WBC formula left shift-80%. Lymphopenia in 32.3%. Accelerated ESR in 67.7%.All patients received TB treatment. 50.0% of HIV-infected received HAART. 37.5% of patients recovered, a positive trend in 12.5%, 32.5% died, 17.5% continued treatment. Conclusions: The disease has subtle clinical manifestations, frequent HIV coinfection, and adverse outcomes.
