The latter is the only measure which considers intensity of PA relative to an individual's performance, based on their baseline outcome on an exercise test; all other three are absolute measures of PA.People were most likely to be classified 'active' based on the threshold of 150 minutes moderate activity (individualised METs) in 10 minute bouts (table1). People were most likely to be classified 'sedentary' based on threshold 150 minutes moderate activity (≥3 METs) in 10 minute bouts. Classification of active or sedentary was only agreed on all four measures in 23% of cases.View this table:Table 1There is considerable disagreement on PA classification between various recommendations. Patients were most likely to be active using a measure which is relative to their performance. This should be considered when deciding which PA parameters to measure and in how to target PA advice to patients. ER -
