Two questions on the place of purchase of cigarettes were added in 2012 and 2013.RESULTS: The study reports 978 regular or occasional smokers who respond, telling the place where they personally buy cigarettes. At 12 years, 38\% of smoking children buy their own cigarettes to the tobacconist, 45\% at 13 years, 49\% at 14 years, 66\% at 15 years, 77\% at 16 years and 89\% at 17-year-old.Smokers teenagers \<18 years were 71\% to have themselves purchased in 2013 cigarettes to tobacconists who don{\textquoteright}t have by law the right to sell cigarettes to minors. This figure has declined in 2012 to 61\%. Among 12-15 year old population the percentage buying cigarettes themselves at the tobacconist has decreased from 58\% to 41\% between 2012 and 2013, while the decrease was minimal in 16-17-year-old population.CONCLUSIONS: Despite the slight improvement observed in 2013 in the schoolchildren under 16 years old, half of the 12-15-year-old buys cigarettes themselves from tobacconists.
