Implementation since 1997 of TB control programs in the medium term (under technical assistance of WHO experts) resulted in a further reduction in mortality from tuberculosis, leading progressively to a mortality rate of 6.0% ooo in 2011.Standardized mortality rates by gender shows that in Romania the rate for males in 2009 was 6.5 times higher than that of females. Similar to 2009, in 2010 deaths peaked in the age group 45-54 years. In 2010, the tuberculosis fatality was 4.7% and the lethality 0.6%.Conclusions: The accuracy of implementation of TB control strategy, both early detection measures tuberculosis and establishing anti-tuberculosis therapy under direct observation, are security features to reduce mortality from tuberculosis.
