Demographic, clinical and laboratory data were noted. Glasgow Coma Score (GCS), Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation(APACHE-II), Simplified Acute Physiology Score(SAPS-II), Pneumonia Severity Index(PSI), Charlson Comorbidity Index(CCI), Sepsis Related Organ Failure Assessment Score(SOFA) were calculated. Patients were divided into two groups as ”exitus” and “discharged from hospital”.Results: 73 patients (63% males, mean age:77.01±13.31) were included.In-hospital mortality rate was 49.3%(36/73). All calculated scores excluding CCI, serum sodium (Na) and albümin levels, arterial lactate level, heart rate and peripheric oxygen saturation(SpO2) were significantly different in two groups. Conclusions: Clinical scoring systems are useful for mortality prediction in AP. Patients in exitus group had higher arterial lactate and lower albumin levels indicating dehydration and poor oral intake. Thus appropriate hydration and nutrition of this patient population is crucial.
